Introduction – Prayers Of The Faithful

“Rendering unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar” has presented challenges to people in every era of recorded civilization. It presents itself in the form of taxes to be paid to established government/authority or being sent into battle by the recognized authority.

Usually it is quite obvious who Caesar is. The authority and power of government is well defined. Left to its own designs it often finds ways to insert itself into every aspect of the daily life of a country and its citizens.

Now, what about “Rendering unto God what belongs to God”? Caesar will try to define that too. It becomes more important in those times for us to understand what place God has in our lives and in the life of our nation. We have to accept that there is indeed a place for God in each life and in our common life. God will not force Himself on anyone. He just waits for our invitation to let Him in so He can reveal His Beloved Son who is the way, the truth and the life. And then “rendering unto God” becomes a joy and gives real freedom.
