Hospital Communion Ministry

The Diocese would like to have more laypeople involved in pastoral visitation and the distribution of Communion at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ideally, these would be individuals who already distribute Communion at Mass. If this is a ministry that interests you, please speak with Msgr. Henneberry after Mass. Pastoral Care training and orientation to our Responsible Ministry protocol will be provided by the Diocese. Horizon Health will also provide training and orientation specific to the hospital. Volunteers will also need to get a police background check.

Chalice

Chalice extends a heartfelt “thank you” to Msgr. Henneberry and Holy Redeemer Parish for hosting a Child Sponsorship Weekend on April 11-12. As a result, 12 children in need were sponsored, in addition to those who are usually sponsored after more time and consideration. On behalf of these children, thank you for your generosity and hospitality! You have revealed God’s love to His precious children. Chalice envisions a world where all children and families have the means to overcome the cycle of poverty. Please prayerfully consider a call to sponsorship, a unique way to live out your faith by providing hope for a child in need. Please visit chalice.ca or call 1-800-776-6855 for more information on our mission or to sponsor a child today.
