Prayers Of The Faithful – May 2

For Pope Francis as he joyfully bears the burdens of leadership and shows us how to remain connected and faithful to Christ.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian as he works with priests and lay leaders to develop programs for parish renewal and revitalization.
We pray to the Lord.

For persecuted Christians and for Catholic priests and lay people imprisoned and kidnapped in Africa, China and Haiti.
We pray to the Lord.

For families, that all generations will learn from each other and together they will learn from the gentle example of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, during the month of May devoted to her.
We pray to the Lord.

For mothers in distress, especially those being pressured to end a pregnancy, and for vulnerable adults and teenagers threatened by liberalized laws for assisted suicide.
We pray to the Lord.

For people who are ill, at home, in hospital and special care and nursing homes and for people awaiting surgery and treatment, especially those who are living with cancer.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Dr. Norm Garey, Richard O’Neill, James Taylor, Muriel Laird, Robert (Fitzy) Fitzgerald, Patricia Kennedy, Ann Maloughney; that they will receive refreshment, light and peace in the Kingdom of Heaven.
We pray to the Lord.
