Prayers Of The Faithful – January 25

For Pope Leo and the universal Church: that as we devote this Sunday to God’s written Word we may proclaim its richness to the whole world.
We pray to the Lord.

For our world and all people, that the increasing rush to war and hostile actions might give way to calm and common sense so that paths to peace may be explored.
We pray to the Lord.

For our children and grandchildren and all students in schools and universities, that the intercession of St. Thomas Aquinas might lead them to recognize God in their lives and in their discoveries.
We pray to the Lord.

For the poor and homeless and for all people struggling with rising costs for food and shelter and the challenges of winter.
We pray to the Lord.

For all who are ill and in need of our prayers.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Lorraine Henry, Jeannette Woods, Ian Mercer, Norma Carrier, Rose Marie Aucoin, Carl Gaudet, Amber Smith, Bernie McGrath, Dawn Butler, Marian Luttrell (mother of Fr. Dan Melanson), Roy McKinney; and for their families.

For Pope Leo, Bishop Christian and the whole Church: that we may draw others to Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.
We pray to the Lord.

For the millions of refugees, migrants and victims of war and for the many aid workers and Church organizations who assist them.
We pray to the Lord.

For Christians throughout the world: that we will pray during this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity for a united witness to the healing and forgiving presence of Jesus in the Church.
We pray to the Lord.

For a strengthening of family life and for the many couples preparing to enter into the Sacrament of Christian Marriage.
We pray to the Lord.

For the sick and suffering and for healthcare workers.
We pray to the Lord.
