Prayers Of The Faithful – February 19

For Pope Francis and for the church around the world, especially where it faces persecution and Catholics are imprisoned.
We pray to the Lord.

For victims of disasters and conflict and for the generous and brave people who bring them aid and medical help.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian and our Diocesan family of faith as we begin our Lenten preparation on Ash Wednesday this week.
We pray to the Lord.

For the children in our Religious Education Program and all our children and grandchildren, that our Lenten prayer, penance and sacrifice will inspire them and encourage them in their faith.
We pray to the Lord.

For the poor and homeless and for families who are anxious about their future because of rising prices and profits making food and housing more unaffordable.
We pray to the Lord.

For the sick and shut-ins, for people who work in medical and caring professions and for people burdened by addiction.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Marilyn Jollineau, Joan (Breen) Myers, Paul Dupuis, Duncan Keenan, Dorina Somers, Fred Brown, Roger Sullivan, Shirley Farrah; and for their families and friends.
We pray to the Lord.

For Pope Francis, as he leads the Church in praying for the sick on this World Day of Prayer for the Sick, and for each person praying for spiritual or physical healing.
We pray to the Lord.

For medical and support workers, for priests, religious and lay people giving vital pastoral and spiritual care to the sick and for people caring for infirm, elderly parents or spouses or children with special needs at home.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian and all the Bishops in their ongoing work for reconciliation with aboriginal peoples in Canada, and among all faith and cultural groups in our country.
We pray to the Lord.

For our children and grandchildren and families trying to live their faith in a culture and world that denies or makes fun of faith.
We pray to the Lord.

For the poor and homeless, for children and families who lack basic necessities and for the people and groups who try to provide for them.
We pray to the Lord.

For your personal intentions and for your families.
