Prayers Of The Faithful – September 5

For Pope Francis and Bishop Christian as they encourage us to welcome everyone without distinction and to make our parishes homes of faith where family life is strengthened.
We pray to the Lord.

For the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker on this Labour Day, to protect workers and their families and to encourage those who are looking for work and for God’s blessing on all human work.
We pray to the Lord.

For our country amidst fires and drought and hardships that those seeking election will propose ways to help the poorest, to make housing affordable, and to protect vulnerable lives.
We pray to the Lord.

For our children and grandchildren returning to school amidst pandemic uncertainty, and for young family members leaving home for university and college, that they will cherish their faith and family traditions.
We pray to the Lord.

For anyone who is ill at home or in hospital, for those receiving treatments and awaiting surgery, and for people living with mental illness or weighed down by addiction.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: James Kane, Ginny Friars, Margaret MacDonald, Percy Praught; that God will welcome them to the banquet table of Heaven and that Our Lady of Sorrows will comfort people who are in mourning.
We pray to the Lord.
