Prayers Of The Faithful – March 20

For Pope Francis in his constant rejection of war and his daily work and prayer on behalf of refugees as he provides for them and finds safe passages for them and as he consecrates the people of Ukraine and Russia to Mary on March 25th.
We pray to the Lord.

For the intercession and protection of Saint Joseph, patron of our country, as we celebrate his feast, and as the millions of Canadians threatened by inflation and profiteering seek his aid, and as our Aboriginal groups prepare to meet Pope Francis.

We pray to the Lord.

For people still suffering lingering effects of COVID and its impact on our healthcare system and for all the sick in need of prayers.
We pray to the Lord.

For men and women who respond generously to the needs of the poor, the discouraged and lonely and may some of these see in their generous response the seed of a vocation to the priesthood or religious life.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Shirley Cook, Ronald Roy, Nancy McLaughlin, Gary Kelly, Brian McCarthy, Deborah Beckingham, Kulandai Theresa, Frances Barry, Olive Dunn, Carolyn Stewart, Roy Brideau, and for families and friends who mourn them.

Volunteers Needed

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is hoping to establish an overnight shelter for the homeless in their building on Waterloo Street. They have the space available to accommodate 6 people each night and would like to begin operating as soon as early February. However, for this to become a reality, they need volunteers. They need help registering clients as they arrive, and they would require other volunteers to stay overnight with a security guard to ensure all clients are following the rules. If you would consider being part of this important outreach ministry, please contact the Cathedral by email (cic@nb.aibn.com), and they will pass your name along to the project coordinator.
