Prayers Of The Faithful – January 15

For Pope Francis and his prayer intention this month for educators and especially for parents, the first teachers of their children.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian and our Diocesan family as we enter Ordinary Time and renew our efforts to revitalize our Church and to witness to Christ’s presence among us.
We pray to the Lord.

For married couples who are a sign to us of Christ’s love for the Church and for young people preparing for Christian marriage.
We pray to the Lord.

For our children and grandchildren who return to Religious Education classes and the important life work of informing and sharing their faith.
We pray to the Lord.

For people who are hungry and homeless and for the increasing numbers of families burdened by high food costs and rents.
We pray to the Lord.

For people who are ill and for their caregivers.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Rev. Dr. P. Brian Hansen, Dora Bourgeois, Margaret McGillivray, Catherine Wilson, Gerry Abbott, Rose Donovan, Betty Richard, Doug Frauley, Jim Dineen, Lisa Heffernan, Helen Dakin; that God will embrace them in love and comfort families in mourning.
We pray to the lord.

Parish Video Series

Deacon Stephen will lead a 7-week video series called The Search, an engaging video series that asks questions about life and faith. Following the video there will be small group discussion.

We’ll gather Sunday evenings from 6:45 pm – 8:00 pm (January 15 – February 26) in the basement of Holy Redeemer Parish. Note: please use the entrance on the parking lot side of the church.

Census

Reminder: All parishes across the diocese are participating in the “I Know My Sheep” census over the next month, when there is typically increased Mass attendance. The goal of the census is to update each parish database with current and accurate contact information for our parish families, to update the diocesan database, and to prepare for a planning study to test a potential diocesan wide capital campaign in 2023. Having updated information will also give our parishes a better idea of who is in our parish and hopefully improve communication. Every weekend until January 15, you will see census cards in the pews. We are asking each family to take just a couple of minutes to complete a card. These can be returned by placing them in the offertory basket, dropping them off at the parish office or sending them by mail. Thank you for your cooperation in this important effort.
