Prayers Of The Faithful – July 31

For Pope Francis who has brought great healing to our nations through his apologies and humble presence among us and for all Canadians who will continue the work of reconciliation.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian and for his priests as they celebrate the feast of their patron, St. John Vianney on August 4th and for a generous response from young men to God’s call to priesthood.
We pray to the Lord.

For our Province of New Brunswick as we celebrate our provincial holiday on Monday and for all of our citizens deeply affected by rising costs for food and housing.
We pray to the Lord.

For the safety of all who are travelling this holiday weekend and for a safe and happy summer for our children and grandchildren.
We pray to the Lord.

For all who are ill and for the many who are waiting for diagnostic testing, treatment or surgery.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Mary Cormier, Douglas Enman, Butch Cogswell, Germaine Hachey, Ken St. Croix, Eleanor Horgan, Pat Gorman, Jerry Donovan, Dorothy Galbraith; and for people and families mourning the death of someone they love.

For Pope Francis as he begins his penitential pilgrimage to Canada on Sunday and for open hearts and minds to receive his words and gestures.
We pray to the Lord.

For our country, that the first visit of Pope Francis among us may show the many diverse groups that contrition and forgiveness are needed before reconciliation can take place.
We pray to the Lord.

For our parents and grandparents as we prayerfully observe this July 24th as the Day for Grandparents and the Elderly.
We pray to the Lord.

For the poor, especially families with children, as the economic burdens weighing on them grow much heavier, and inflation and greed grow with no regard for them.
We pray to the Lord.

For all of our healthcare workers as great changes take place within the healthcare system and for all the sick who are most affected.
We pray to the Lord.

For the safety of all travelers and for the safety of all children enjoying holidays.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Janice Robertson, Bud Stilwell, Peter Chouinard, Gaspard Robichaud, Tony McGraw, Muriel Wilson, Ethel Doucet (mother of Fr. Paul Doucet), Scott Williams, Doug Enman; and for families who mourn them.
