Prayers Of The Faithful – August 18

For Pope Francis and for all who are preparing for the Synod to be held in October in Rome.
We pray to the Lord.

For Bishop Christian and the youth of our Diocese who are gathering at Villa Madonna this weekend.
We pray to the Lord.

For the safety of our children and grandchildren.
We pray to the Lord.

For young men and women that they might use these last days of summer to consider that God may be calling them to a vocation in the Priesthood or Religious Life.
We pray to the Lord.

For volunteers and workers who assist the poor and homeless.
We pray to the Lord.

For healthcare works and caregivers who comfort and heal the sick and dying.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who have died: Madeline Frauley, Serafina Mattina.

Afternoon For Youth

Reminder: “Take Up His Calling” will be an afternoon for high school youth (ages 14-18) in our Diocese. It will be held this Sunday, August 18, from 1 – 6:30 pm, at the Villa Madonna in Rothesay. Enjoy an afternoon filled with activities, faith, fellowship, food, and a Mass celebrated by Bishop Riesbeck. Please RSVP by email (catechesis@dioceseofsaintjohn.org) or text (506-627-6465).

Youth Ministry

Reminder: The Diocese will host a day of prayer, discernment, and discussion about youth ministry on Tuesday, August 27, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, at the Villa Madonna. It is for anyone interested in discussing initiatives regarding evangelizing young people in our parishes. It is open to current and new people interested in building youth groups in parishes.
