Our Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception founded here in Saint John by Sister Honoria Conway on October 21, 1854 are celebrating their 165 anniversary. We are grateful for their charism of charity lived out in our midst over all of these years. Congratulations! May God continue to bestow on them his choicest blessings!
Bishop Harris is preparing to retire after twelve years of service as Bishop of Saint John. You are invited to a concelebrated Mass of Thanksgiving to say farewell to him at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, November 7, 6:30 pm. A reception will follow.
It’s been a year since
Holy Redeemer Parish came into being and with this amalgamation the number of
parishioners increased, resulting in an increase in attendance at various
events. It is wonderful to see so many participating but we did not gain an
increase in our volunteers. We need your help, male or female, in a number of
Martha Guild – Bingo, Parish events (Receptions/dinners, Victoria Day Flea Market, Bake Sales, Easter events, Parish Fun Day)
Bereavement Committee – Making sandwiches and serving at funeral

This Sunday, October 20, is World Mission Sunday and Pope
Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection to help
missionaries. Your donations will support churches, hospitals, schools and
religious Brothers and Sisters in Asia, Africa, Latin America and some of our
Canadian dioceses. For those who do not use envelopes, special yellow envelopes
are available at all entrances. There are also prayer calendars on the entrance
tables for you to take home.
