Our Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception founded here in Saint John by Sister Honoria Conway on October 21, 1854 are celebrating their 165 anniversary. We are grateful for their charism of charity lived out in our midst over all of these years. Congratulations! May God continue to bestow on them his choicest blessings!

Martha Guild

The Martha Guild needs your help –

It’s been a year since Holy Redeemer Parish came into being and with this amalgamation the number of parishioners increased, resulting in an increase in attendance at various events. It is wonderful to see so many participating but we did not gain an increase in our volunteers. We need your help, male or female, in a number of areas:

Martha Guild – Bingo, Parish events (Receptions/dinners, Victoria Day Flea Market, Bake Sales, Easter events, Parish Fun Day)

Bereavement Committee – Making sandwiches and serving at funeral receptions.

If you are willing to help in any of these areas please contact:

Louise O’Connor (648-9059 or
Donna Lewell (658-1568 or 645-9990 or

There will be a Martha Guild member downstairs at the Fun Day to answer any questions; and next weekend there will be a sign-up sheet at all entrances for anyone who is able to volunteer.

Thanking you in advance for your support.

World Mission Sunday

This Sunday, October 20, is World Mission Sunday and Pope Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection to help missionaries. Your donations will support churches, hospitals, schools and religious Brothers and Sisters in Asia, Africa, Latin America and some of our Canadian dioceses. For those who do not use envelopes, special yellow envelopes are available at all entrances. There are also prayer calendars on the entrance tables for you to take home.
